The vision for Victoria Park Commons, Hills and Trails combines the qualities of historical neighborhoods with the progressive attributes of today’s successful communities. It recognizes the significant community enhancement achieved through the careful preservation and cultivation of the natural environment and the creation of pedestrian friendly neighborhoods that contribute to an attractive small-town scale. Victoria Park will integrate the built environment with the existing natural environment to create a unique place within the City of DeLand.
Victoria Park has 450 acres of preserved upland Sandhill pine and scrub habitat.
Throughout Victoria Park there are numerous protected wetlands that are managed for the wildlife that called it home before we arrived.
From the protected gopher tortoise, a burrowing turtle to the Sandhill Cranes, numerous species of native animals and birds call Victoria home during some part of the year.
Our neighborhoods are home to 41 storm water ponds that not only bring beauty and nourish our wildlife, but function to retain runoff, remove pollutants, prevent erosion and slowly release water to replenish our precious groundwater.
We were the first residential development in DeLand to store and use the city’s reclaimed wastewater for irrigation. Victoria Park strives to remain a model for communities -- to be both beautiful and compatible with the natural habitat.
